25 years ago, six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey was killed in her Boulder, Colorado home.
The ensuing years have brought false investigative starts, wild conspiracy theories, and a seemingly infinite number of accusations against nearly everyone involved with the case.
The one thing the years have not brought is an arrest.
JonBenét Ramsey deserves justice and new advances in DNA technology finally make that possible. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, you are the only person with enough power and independence in the state to put Ramsey DNA testing decisions in the hands of a new agency that’s free from Boulder’s significant history with the case.
Since her death in 1996, advances in DNA have allowed for testing of even trace amounts of severely degraded samples. Combined with innovation in forensic genetic genealogy (which led to the arrest of the Golden State Killer), new arrests and identifications in cold cases are happening across the country at an unprecedented rate. Private labs like Othram use best-in-class technology to work directly with law enforcement and state crime labs to support the processing of samples. In fact, earlier this year, police in Denver (less than 30 miles away) used genetic genealogy and familial DNA to solve four homicides from the early 1980s.
So why is new DNA testing technology and forensic genetic genealogy searching not being used in the JonBenét case? Here’s what the Boulder Police (BPD) posted on the 25-year anniversary of the case:
“As the Department continues to use new technology to enhance the investigation, it is actively reviewing genetic DNA testing processes to see if those can be applied to this case moving forward.”
They can. Right now. Everyone who understands this technology knows that.
Boulder Police are working hard to placate the public by telling the media that they hope DNA will solve this case while, at the same time, doing very little to make that happen. And it makes sense: the same two key investigators from 1996 still have control of the case. Isn’t it time for new perspectives and ideas?
In short, justice for JonBenét has seemingly given way to politics and the massaging of egos. She deserves better. Everyone, from the police to the family, should have a vested interest in finding the truth. The fact that those with the ability to do that are not doing it should tell us everything we need to know.
Governor Polis, you were born in Boulder 15 years before JonBenét. You have a connection to the city. Your intervention in the Colorado truck driver case shows you have compassion. You have the power. Given the lack of progress by the Boulder Police, we the undersigned petitioners ask you to move DNA decisions in this case away from the BPD to an independent agency so that JonBenét has a last chance at the justice she deserves.

side of justice, even for a dangerous chronic bully like Ken Plough. What unfolds is a story of investigation in an
Iowan town, fraught with obstacles that gradually reveals a daringly complex
tale that rivals true crime stories on serial killers, leaving you obsessed as
you try to figure out who is kidnapping the missing women. I highly recommend Wretched to anyone
who enjoys true crime. Based on true events! This is my kind of novel!

St. Louis Style Gooey Butter Case and Table & Vine Quady Electra 750 ml Wine
Missouri’s
Gooey Butter Cake for a Missouri case!
Ingredients
½ cup butter- Not Margarine!
1 box yellow cake mix (18 oz) (a gluten free cake mix works fine too!)
3 eggs
1 8 oz package of
cream cheese, cut in quarters
½ tsp almond or vanilla extract
4 cups of confectioners’ sugar
Directions
1. Grease or spray with Pam 1 9X13 baking pan, a deep one because the cake
will rise.
2. Melt butter.
3. Empty cake mix into large bowl, adding the melted butter
and ONE EGG (not all 3). Mix. This will be the consistency of sticky dough.
4.Press mixture into pan using a spatula or clean fingers.
5. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, almond or vanilla
extract, confectioners’ sugar and remaining 2 eggs. Beat for 3 minutes on medium
speed until batter is smooth.
6. Pour evenly over the cake in pan.
7. Place on a cookie sheet just in case the baking cake
spills over- saving you a mess!
8. Bake at 350 30-45 minutes until the top is golden brown.
You do have to watch these last few minutes. There will be a papery thin sugar
crust on top of the cake.
9. Let the cake cool COMPLETELY or it will be tough to cut.
It may look like it’s sunken when cooled- this is normal. You can refrigerate
but cooling on the counter is fine.
10. Dust with confectioners’ sugar on top! Cut into bars. Cake will be gooey, it should be. Do not overcook! EAT!

Colorado Style Green Chile Recipe

Unsolved: The JonBenet Ramsey Murder 25 Years Later
1 medium white onion, diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 jalapeno, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup green chiles diced
2 - 14.5 oz canned fire-roasted tomatoes
3 cups broth (vegetable, chicken, or pork)
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
3 Tbsp butter (or vegan butter)
3 Tbsp flour
1 - 2 pinch sugar (optional)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup green chiles diced
2 - 14.5 oz canned fire-roasted tomatoes
3 cups broth (vegetable, chicken, or pork)
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp oregano
3 Tbsp butter (or vegan butter)
3 Tbsp flour

Stove Top Instructions
1.
Dice onion and jalapeno. Mince garlic.
Measure green chiles (dice if needed)
2.
Heat olive oil in the bottom of
the pot or pan, saute the onions for 2 - 3 minutes. Add jalapeno and garlic,
saute for two more minutes. Add jalapeno, green chile, and cumin and oregano),
saute for an additional two minutes. Add fire-roasted tomatoes, stir well,
and bring to a boil.

Add 3 cups of broth,

Melt the butter in a small saute
pan, once melted add in the flour, and whisk in flour until smooth. Allow
the flour to bubble and cook for 2 minutes or until golden brown. Add roux to
green chile mix and stir to fully incorporate into chile.

Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer for 2
-3 hours stirring as needed to avoid burning.
Crock Pot Instructions
Complete steps 1-3 from
stove top directions.
4. Turn
crockpot on low for 4 hours cooking time or high for 2 hours cooking time.
Pour broth and fire-roasted tomatoes into the
crockpot. Add the sauteed onions, jalapeno, cumin, garlic, green chile, and
spices to the crockpot.
5. Melt
the butter in a small saute pan, once melted add in the flour,
and whisk in flour until smooth (this is the roux). Allow the flour to bubble
and cook for two minutes or until golden brown. Add roux to green chile in the
crockpot and stir to fully incorporate into chile. 3 tablespoons butter (or
vegan butter),3 tablespoons flour
Serving as a stew, dip with Fritos chips, over tortillas.
